OAD Hosts Court Of Appeals Judge Eugene F. Pigott, Jr.
We were pleased to have the Honorable Eugene F. Pigott, Jr. of the New York Court of Appeals at OAD on June, 8 2009, for a program on criminal leave applications. Judge Pigott provided insights about leave applications to an audience of appellate lawyers from OAD, the Legal Aid Society, the Center for Appellate Litigation, and Appellate Advocates. New York Enacts Sweeping Overhaul Of Rockefeller Drug Laws
In April, New York enacted a sweeping overhaul of the Rockefeller drug laws, which were some of the harshest in the nation and resulted in the incarceration of tens of thousands of non-violent offenders.
