The Office of the Appellate Defender’s annual fundraiser, First Monday in October, features a mock U.S. Supreme Court argument, followed by an awards ceremony to present the Gould Award for Outstanding Advocacy to two of the most highly regarded advocates in the nation. This exciting event, held at New York University School of Law, is attended by many of New York's most prominent attorneys, judges, and government officials.
