The Office of the Appellate Defender is a not-for-profit law firm devoted to providing excellent legal representation to indigent persons convicted of felonies in Manhattan and the Bronx. Once their appeals are heard, some 10 to 15 percent of OAD clients are found to have been wrongly convicted or sentenced to unduly harsh prison terms.
